APPLICATION FOR DAY CARE (English)
PÄIVÄHOITOHAKEMUS (Finnish)
The specialty of the kindergarten, in addition to normal day care education is to guide children to globalisation. The primary goal is to immerse the children in English. We strive to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere to support the holistic development of children and provide good conditions for learning new things.
Partial immersion is used for teaching English. English teachers speak only English and Finnish teachers use both languages. English language is also used for theme based curriculum and the themes change approximately every month. Children are divided into age groups (6 years, 4-5 years, 3-4 years and under 3 years). The proportion of English increases with age.
The weekly schedule includes a variety of arts and crafts, music, games, exercise and short teaching sessions in both English and Finnish languages. Daily activities include dining, a rest time, free play and outdoor activities. During the school year we make several field trips with the children; for example to the library, market square, theatre, parks, sports field and into the woods.

PARENTS' ROLE
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Together with our parents we want to raise our children in a safe and caring environment that will encourage the children to grow into self-motivated, confident, and co-operative individuals.
We believe every child is unique and hope to strengthen his/her self- esteem. We emphasise the importance of good manners as well as important social skills. The children are immersed in the English language through curriculum and play. We hope to instil a sense of global awareness and tolerance of all people.
